Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinates and facilitates procurement and inventory management.
- High level of involvement in the implementation and maintenance of the ERP system pertaining to but not limited to; Inventory location, PAR levels, Item Master, Purchase Requisitioning, Purchase Orders, etc.
- Purchase Order, receipt and invoice discrepancy resolution.
- Revise and update electronic records; departmental ordering forms, charge sheets and other materials as required.
- Responsible to continuously maintains purchasing and other systems with accurate data related to the purchase and inventory of supplies, implants, etc.
- Facilitates acquisition of medical and general supplies, equipment and services utilizing best practices. Monitors and compares supply pricing and implements cost-effective purchasing.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors; Collaborating closely with Sales Representatives to achieve the optimal pricing and terms of purchasing
- Review and manage vendor contracts for compliance and cost-effectiveness
- Perform Cost and Usage Analysis
- Initiate and monitor GPO contracts
- Proactively reviews opportunities for standardization and contract utilization.
- Continually communicates with the Operating Room Manager/Director(s), initiate and assist Operating Room physicians and staff with contracted supplies and new requests for evaluation
- Supports internal departments acting as a resource for procurement and budgeting needs.
- Assists departments with new product and product change requests; working with the requestor, vendor sales representative, GPO and the Materials Management staff.
- Supports the Senior Director of Procurement and Facilities (to include but not limited to) Month End Reporting, Annual Physical Inventory, RFP’s, Capital quoting and processing, New Product Evaluation and Contracts
- Ensure all purchases comply with hospital policies and government regulations.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Healthcare management, or a related field
- 2-5 years Purchasing related experience with a strong knowledge of computers, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software
- Knowledge of GPOs (Group Purchasing Organization) and supply chain best practices
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Problem-solving skills, especially in resource-limited settings
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a professional manner delivering the highest level of customer service
- Completes all mandatory education and requirements
Job Requirements: Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, healthcare administration, or logistics
- Experience in a critical access or rural healthcare environment Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) – by AHRMM (American Hospital Association)
- Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) – by the American Purchasing Society
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) – by the Institute for Supply Management
