Responsibilities
- Provide attententive care to clients, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout your shift
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, documenting findings accurately in care plans
- Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and prescribed schedules, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas, laundry, and sanitizing resident spaces
- Support residents with cognitive impairments like Alzheimer’s or dementia through memory care techniques and compassionate engagement
Skills
- Prior experience working in homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly valued
- Strong patient observation skills to detect subtle changes in health or behavior promptly
- Knowledge of medication reminders, and basic first aid/CPR certification a plus
- Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards for patient privacy and safety
- Ability to assist with ADLs using manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, or geriatrics is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and engage compassionately with residents
