Job Summary
Custom Industrial Products, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Applications Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between complex customer requirements and our innovative VRC solutions. The Applications Engineering will be responsible for building intricate customer drawings, engaging in in-depth technical discussions with clients regarding VRC complexities, and developing tailored material handling solutions that meet specific operational needs. A strong engineering background and exceptional communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Consultation: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for prospective and existing clients, providing expert guidance on VRC capabilities, specifications, and applications.
Customer Drawing Development: Develop and analyze detailed customer drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to outline critical requirements and potential challenges for VRC integration.
Solution Design: Collaborate with internal engineering and manufacturing teams to design and propose customized VRC solutions that address unique customer material handling needs.
Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve complex technical inquiries and challenges during the pre-sales and post-sales phases, ensuring customer satisfaction and project success.
Quotation Support: Assist in the preparation of accurate and comprehensive technical proposals and quotations, ensuring all engineering specifications and customer requirements are clearly documented.
Market Feedback: Gather and relay market intelligence, customer feedback, and emerging technical trends to product development teams to foster continuous improvement and innovation.
Industry Standards: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ANSI/ASME B20.1 Safety Standard) and regulatory requirements relevant to VRC design and operation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
Proven experience in a sales engineering or technical sales role, preferably within the material handling, conveying, or industrial equipment industry.
Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work with complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
In-depth understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical controls, and structural design principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel as required to client sites and industry events.
Pay: Up to $150,000.00 per year
