Home Instead is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and skilled Care Professional to support a younger adult living in a Developmental Disability (DD) residential home in Carlinville.
This is a unique, hands-on caregiving role for someone who enjoys building relationships, supporting complex care needs, and making a genuine difference every day.
About the Client
The client is a younger adult with an intellectual disability, Autism, and ALS who benefits from consistent, attentive, and patient support.
This role requires confidence, strong communication, and the ability to recognize and respond to changing physical and behavioral needs.
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism, ALS, or other complex care needs is highly valued.
Anticipated Shifts (Shifts may vary)
Monday - Friday
What You’ll Do
You will help the client remain safe, comfortable, engaged, and supported throughout your shift. Responsibilities may include:
- Hands-on personal care and daily living assistance
- Mobility support, positioning, and safe transfers
- Assistance with personal hygiene and grooming
- Meal support and daily routine assistance
- Companionship and meaningful engagement
- Following established care plans and safety procedures
- Observing and communicating changes in condition or needs
- Collaborating with DD home staff and the Home Instead care team
- Providing patient, respectful support while encouraging independence whenever possible
Before you apply make sure you qualify:
- You have 2+ yr(s) of caregiving experience (professional or personal!).
- You live in/near Carlinville!***
- Willing to drive up to 25 miles.
- You are able to pass a criminal background check & motor vehicle check.
- You have a valid driver's license & your OWN personal vehicle w/ auto insurance.
- You are 18+ yrs old!
