The Senior Solution Architect defines the architecture and technical direction for 7-Eleven’s Marketing Technology (MarTech) ecosystem, spanning data, decisioning, content, activation, and measurement across Retail Media (RMN), CRM, Personalization, and Web. This role designs the target-state architecture, including the orchestration/enrichment layer and a business-facing decisioning capability, and establishes the integration patterns, standards, and governance that turn a fragmented set of platforms into a cohesive, scalable capability. The Senior Solution Architect leads build-vs-buy evaluations, defines data and API contracts, and partners with engineering, data, product, and platform owners to sequence a pragmatic roadmap. This role is a senior technical authority ensuring MarTech investments are consistent, reusable, compliant, and aligned to business outcomes.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and own the current- and target-state MarTech architecture across data, decisioning, content, activation, and measurement.
- Design the orchestration/enrichment layer and business-facing decisioning capability, and the integration patterns that connect them to channels.
- Lead build-vs-buy assessments and produce architecture recommendations, reference designs, and decision documentation for leadership alignment.
- Establish integration standards, data/API contracts, identity resolution, and governance to reduce fragmentation and duplication.
- Partner with engineering and data teams on solution designs, technical reviews, and delivery sequencing.
- Ensure architectural decisions meet security, privacy, compliance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across MarTech work streams and reduce keyperson and single-platform risk.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 8+ years
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES: Cloud architecture certification (AWS or Azure) preferred; TOGAF a plus.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Deep experience architecting distributed, cloud-based data and application systems at enterprise scale.
- Strong knowledge of MarTech/AdTech ecosystems: CDP/identity, decisioning/personalization, CRM (SFMC), CMS (Contentstack), and retail media.
- Experience with data platforms (Databricks), streaming (Kafka), reverse-ETL/activation (Hightouch), and identity (LiveRamp/UID2).
- Proven ability to lead build-vs-buy evaluations and to define integration contracts and standards.
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance for customer data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across technical and business audiences.
