POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Sleep Technician
General:
The Sleep Technician is responsible for setting up new patients with appropriate services per Physician requests. Instructing, following up and continuously monitoring patients with respiratory equipment. Successfully fitting patients with most comfortable and effective style mask. Accurate and detailed documentation.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program. Experienced non-registered will be considered.
Experience/Knowledge:
Good organizational skills. Detail oriented. Willing to function as a cooperative team member. Responsible and cooperative attitude. Clean and neat in personal appearance. Strong verbal communication and listening skills. High quality customer service. Product knowledge. Excellent attendance and dependability. Experience in setting up Resmed and Respironics respiratory devices (CPAP/BiPAP/ Non-Invasive Ventilators).
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Evaluates the needs of patients' scheduled for Oxygen Therapy, PAP devices, Non-Invasive Ventilator, Cough Assist and Vest Therapy
· Instruct patients on proper use and care of equipment according to written policies and procedures
· Demonstrates assembly of equipment, maintenance and safe usage of all equipment
· Explains insurance requirements for compliance and ongoing medical necessity
· Educates patient on diagnosis and findings of sleep study
· Educates patient on insurance fee schedules deductible and co-payments
· Communicates with patient as well as family/caregiver
· Communicates with treating Physician regarding mutual patient
· Monitors patient usage continuously and following up with patients
· Detailed and accurate documentation of all contact with patients either in person or on phone
· Continuous entry of medical equipment being used as well as any updates to reflect changes
· Able to review account to ensure all required documents are on file before providing services
· Work on call rotation
· Completes all assessments and supporting documentation in a timely manner
· Works tasks daily, voicemails and emails
· Tracks and maintains follow up needs for preventative maintenance and home visits

Chicago land area and Suburbs
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
