Part-Time Hybrid Bookkeeper + Financial Operations Support

Flora Clay, a growing orchid and plant wholesale/retail company, is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper with strong budgeting, financial analysis, and administrative support skills. This is a hybrid part-time role, working 2–3 days per week in our Downtown LA office.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Manage daily transactions, invoicing, accounts payable/receivable
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Process payroll and maintain compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close
- Prepare monthly sales tax report
- Prepare P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
- Assist with tax preparation coordination
Budgeting & Financial Reporting
- Track budgets and spending against goals
- Provide financial insights and cost-saving recommendations
- Support forecasting and financial planning
Administrative & Operational Support
- Maintain organized digital financial records
- Communicate with vendors, resolve invoice issues
- Assist with inventory tracking and cost controls
- Improve financial workflows and documentation
Technology & Systems
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets reporting experience
- Support implementation of improved accounting systems
Qualifications
- Solid bookkeeping experience, ideally in retail or wholesale
- Familiar with payroll, compliance, and basic tax concepts
- High accuracy, strong organization, and confidentiality
- Ability to explain financial data to non-finance team members
- Analytical mindset and proactive problem-solver
