What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician II, you’ll play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and control systems including:
- Extruders
- Corrugators
- Extrusion dies
- AC/DC motors and drives
- Chillers
- Downstream production equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and complete repair work orders in the CMMS system
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Support continuous improvement and plant safety initiatives
- Assist with equipment upgrades and improvement projects
- Order and replace parts and control components as needed
- Collaborate with Production and Engineering teams to maintain safe, reliable operations
- Participate in company training programs to continue building technical skills
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with electrical systems and controls
- Technical training in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems preferred
- Basic PLC and drive training preferred
- Plastic manufacturing or extrusion experience is a plus
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting skills in:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Experience using electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, and meggers
- Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics
- Knowledge of:
- 3-phase industrial wiring
- AC/DC drives and motors
- PLC I/O troubleshooting
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Arc Flash and PPE safety standards
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on role that requires:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing
- Ability to work in varying plant temperatures and industrial environments
