Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts
- observe for changes in condition or behavior
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control procedures
- Document care activities thoroughly in compliance with healthcare standards and communicate updates to healthcare teams or family members
- Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities within home or community settings
Requirements
- Valid certifications in First Aid and CPR; additional training in hospice care or memory care is a plus
- Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs requiring medical attention
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate equipment like Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and care plan implementation
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and families
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions
