Job description:
A growing Bay Area exterior remodeling contractor is looking for a dependable junior team member to train as a siding installer. This is a hands-on apprenticeship opportunity for someone who already has basic construction experience and wants to develop a long-term career in exterior siding installation.
The ideal candidate has some experience with framing carpentry, exterior painting, or similar residential construction work. You will assist with siding demolition, wall preparation, flashing, trim, James Hardie and other siding installations, material handling, jobsite setup, and cleanup while learning proper installation methods from experienced team members.
Qualifications:
- Some framing carpentry or exterior painting experience
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
- Reliable transportation; a pickup truck is strongly preferred
- Clear, professional English communication with customers, supervisors, and crew members
- Clean, professional appearance suitable for occupied residential properties
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Comfortable working outdoors, using ladders, and performing physically demanding work
- Willingness to learn siding installation methods and construction safety practices
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
Primary responsibilities:
- Assist with siding removal and complete siding installation
- Help prepare exterior walls, weather barriers, flashing, trim, and siding materials
- Measure, cut, carry, and organize materials
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Keep jobsites clean, orderly, and respectful of homeowners’ properties
- Pick up or transport materials when needed
- Follow instructions from project managers and experienced installers
- Develop the skills needed to advance into a qualified siding installer
- Willingness to travel to jobsites all over the SF Bay area, from San Jose to Novato and all that is between.

Compensation is based on applicable experience, construction skills, transportation capabilities, and overall qualifications.
