SUMMARY
This position works under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. The laborer's responsibilities include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and pool or spa maintenance for the resort and its facilities. This position is a permanent part-time status, working no more than 29 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conducts routine inspections of premises and equipment.
· Performs preventative maintenance.
· Oversees contractor when professional repairs are necessary.
· Responds to residents’ maintenance requests promptly, which will include communicating maintenance repairs and status with supervisor and office staff.
· Operates small machinery and power tools.
· Responsible for electrical, plumbing, and minor carpentry repairs.
· General maintenance of RV sites.
· Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
· Maintenance of irrigation systems around facilities.
· Other duties may be assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
· Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
· Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
· Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
· Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
· Eye for detail.
· Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
· Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
· Ability to work in hot or cold, and windy weather conditions.
· Ability to walk, stand for long periods of time, as well as stoop, squat, lift, and climb.
· Ability to write and speak English proficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Current valid Arizona Driver's License.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
2-year work experience in a related field
