About the Role
Proactively perform more advanced electrical design for midstream oil and gas projects with limited direction from experienced electrical designers and engineers. Project assignments will include designing electrical, instrument and control drawings. Will report to Manager, Electrical Designer
What You’ll Do

Able to develop complex electrical, instrument and control drawings to fit unique project situations using Kahuna pre-developed tools with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.

Ability to assist with and review drawings of other less experienced designers and markup as necessary to represent a functional design with limited direction from experienced designers and engineers.

Ability to do complex 3D modeling using Kahuna pre-developed tools with limited direction from experienced designers.

Independently lead electrical design portion of mid-sized projects or multiple small projects while coordinating with designers and engineers.

Broad understanding of electrical theory.

Basic understanding of industrial components and equipment.

Assist in development of group standards, practices, and proactively lead evolution of team designs and predeveloped tools/templates.

Demonstrate full understanding of the workflow from beginning to end of a project.

Coordinates with other design teams to ensure continuous flow of information concerning other engineering disciplines affecting the design execution of a project.

Demonstrate strong ability to functionally communicate technical and administrative project/task details, including correspondence via emails and general documentation.

Organize and prepare drawings for delivery maintaining security and confidentiality in a timely manner. Be able to joggle multiple small projects with conflicting deadlines, identify how to adjust priorities and stay proactive.

Understand and be able to operate Navisworks Freedom/Manage/Simulate, allowing for basic integration between engineering and design, and attend model reviews as necessary for assigned projects.

Demonstrate professional behavior around clients and vendors.

What You’ll Bring

Must be a self-starter with initiative, hard worker who can work with some guidance from experienced designers and as a member of a team.

Demonstrates basic understanding of engineering specifications and is aware of applicable codes, materials, and their impact on design.

Must be detailed oriented, precise, organized in handling of drawings and able to prioritize and multitask as individual.

Typically has 3-6 years of progressive relevant design experience or equivalent; 2 years minimum required.

High School diploma or equivalent and community college drafting/CAD courses preferred.

Strong computer, 3D modeling skills and proficient in Microsoft office, Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD®, Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, and other Company software.
