The Effingham Board of Fire and Police Commissioners and the Effingham Fire Department are accepting applications to establish a Full-Time Firefighter Eligibility List. This process is for future full-time career firefighter positions and is not for Paid-On-Call (POC) membership. While we are not currently filling a specific vacancy, it is anticipated that multiple full-time firefighter positions may be filled from this list during its effective period. Applications Due: September 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Mandatory Orientation & Written Examination: September 12, 2026. Applicants must possess a valid CPAT and Ladder Climb Card and meet all qualifications outlined in the application packet.
