General Description of Work
The Sponsorship Coordinator assists the Sponsorship Director in coordinating smooth functionality of the program, excellent and attentive care for the children in East Africa, prompt and professional communication with Sponsors, and program expansion to increase the number of children served each year. This role will also involve some administrative, outreach, and financial tasks to provide a full set of exposure to ministry operations and support several Lahash teams in their work.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain a Personal Partnership Team
a) Write letters and emails, and perform presentations to new and old contacts
b) Reach 100% Support level and maintain level for employment duration
c) Express gratitude for gifts and involvement
2. Participate in the Lahash Community
a) Attend Monday Meals once a month
b) Attend other local events and Lahash retreats
c) Attend East African Conferences
d) Travel at least once per year to East Africa
e) Participate in prayer days, book studies, and outreach events
3. Help manage US Sponsorship Operations
a. Help run an excellent sponsorship program
i. Communicate with the Sponsor Community (Email, phone, writing)
ii. Send packets out to new sponsors and when children exit
iii. Ensure that the Sponsorship database is maintained
iv. Facilitate letters to and from kids and sponsors
v. Compile regular sponsorship mailings with updates, child letters, and response envelopes and ensure these go out in a timely manner
vi. Work to ensure successful annual Bible camps at our ministry partnerships
4. Outreach
a. Present about Lahash to groups, schools, and churches (5-10 per year)
b. Help to host 1-2 larger events for Lahash each year (with other team members)
c. Work with sponsors and donors in hosting events in their towns
5. Administrative Tasks
a. Assist the finance team, admin team, and media team with various projects
6. Learning
a. Be mentored by various team members on methods, skills, and strategies for non-profit ministry in addition to taking some courses or classes from time to time as neeeded
