Duties
- Assist with cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal components using hand tools and power tools such as plasma cutters, press brake machines, and saws
- Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to support fabrication projects
- Help with rigging, crane operation, and pipe threading tasks to facilitate installation and assembly processes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to manufacturing facilities
- Gain exposure to ASME codes & standards for metal fabrication and welding practices
Requirements
- Construction site experience or exposure is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn on the job is essential
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and understanding schematics
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic machining equipment is advantageous
- Ability to work safely around heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes; certification is a plus but not required initially
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in fabrication processes like plasma cutting,
- Strong attention to detail when reading blueprints or schematics; ability to interpret technical drawings accurately
This position will start between $16 to $19/hr or more depending on experience.
