General Manager / Site Leader – Express Car Wash
Location: Tampa, Florida
Compensation:
$65,000 Base Salary

We are seeking an experienced Express Car Wash General Manager to oversee all aspects of a high-volume express tunnel car wash operation.
Candidates without previous management experience in an express tunnel car wash operation will not be considered. This is not an entry-level management position.
The General Manager has full responsibility for the site's sales performance, customer experience, employee development, facility appearance, maintenance execution, operational standards, and financial performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations
- Oversee all daily car wash operations
- Maintain wash quality standards
- Ensure equipment uptime and operational readiness
- Manage preventative maintenance programs
- Maintain exceptional site cleanliness and presentation
- Monitor chemical performance and wash results
- Resolve operational issues quickly and effectively
- Manage labor scheduling and productivity
- Control chemical usage and operational expenses
- Maintain repair and maintenance budgets
- Monitor and improve cost-per-car performance
Financial Management
- Assume full P&L responsibility for the location
- Manage labor, chemical, maintenance, and operating expenses
- Analyze financial reports and operational metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency
- Develop action plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets
Leadership
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees
- Create a culture of accountability and performance
- Conduct regular employee coaching and performance reviews
- Lead team meetings and ongoing training initiatives
- Maintain staffing levels necessary to support business needs
Sales & Membership Growth
- Drive unlimited membership sales
- Improve conversion rates and customer retention
- Execute local marketing and grassroots business development initiatives
- Develop partnerships within the surrounding community
- Generate fleet account opportunities and local business relationships
- Conduct outside sales and community outreach activities
- Monitor and improve KPI performance
Customer Experience
- Maintain exceptional customer service standards
- Manage online reputation and customer feedback
- Resolve customer concerns and claims professionally
- Ensure every customer receives a consistent, high-quality experience
REQUIREMENTS
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in the express car wash industry
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager of a conveyorized tunnel car wash
- Experience managing a high-volume membership-based operation
- Experience managing a conveyorized tunnel wash operation
- Experience leading teams of 10+ employees
- Strong understanding of car wash equipment, chemistry, wash quality, and preventative maintenance programs
- Proven success driving membership sales, conversion rates, and customer retention
- Experience managing KPIs and operational performance metrics
- Experience reading and managing P&L statements, labor budgets, and operating expenses
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills
- Ability to hold employees accountable while building a positive team culture
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays as operationally required
Preferred:
- Experience with Sonny's equipment
- Experience with DRB, JOLT, LPR, and membership management systems
- Experience opening new locations or turning around underperforming sites
- Experience developing fleet accounts and local business partnerships
- Multi-site or Area Manager experience

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
