Medical Assistant – Asthma/COPD Specialty Clinic
North Texas Asthma & COPD is seeking a dependable, patient-centered Medical Assistant to join our startup Asthma/COPD clinic. Our practice focuses on helping patients with asthma, COPD, chronic cough, shortness of breath, and other respiratory conditions improve their symptoms, reduce exacerbations, and maintain long-term lung health.
We are looking for someone who is high character, dependable, and team oriented. This is a startup clinic and we will be a fluid and dynamic team working well together. The ideal candidate works well in small groups, has high ethics, and is interested in cross training and flexible tasking.
Responsibilities
- Manning the front desk, checking-in, answering clinic calls, and setting appointments via our electronic medical record.
- Assisting patients with intake forms.
- Rooming patients
- Assist with spirometry and pulmonary function testing (training will be provided during your onboarding and our physician will be available for trouble shooting).
- Administer injections or treatments as ordered by the physician
- Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, medication refills, and patient communication.
- Help maintain patient flow and minimize wait times
- Running clinic desk-top laboratory (virus screens, blood work).
- Providing a high-quality patient experience from check-in through follow-up
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- eClinicalWorks EMR experience is a plus, but not required
- Phlebotomy experience is a plus but not required
- Comfortable with prior authorizations, insurance verification, referrals, and medication refill workflows
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy clinic environment
- Professional demeanor and excellent patient communication skills

Schedule
Full-time position in an outpatient clinic setting. No hospital shifts, nights, or call.
Candidate must be able to start by the last week of July.
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay based on experience, certification, and skill set.
