Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment at all times
- Plan and facilitate a variety of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and educational projects that promote development and teamwork
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive atmosphere
- Support children with homework help or tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives
- Implement safety protocols such as first aid procedures, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response plans when necessary
- Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curricula that support childhood development and youth engagement
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational, childcare, camp, or youth program settings
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Background in early childhood education, childhood development, special education or related fields is highly desirable
- Ability to supervise children outdoors and indoors in various settings including sports fields or activity centers
- Strong team leadership skills with the ability to facilitate youth group activities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members professionally
- Experience in teaching or tutoring young children is preferred; additional experience in theater, sports coaching, babysitting or camp activities is a plus

Pay: $15.00 per hour
