Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Bather to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional services while ensuring the comfort and safety of pets. As a Pet Bather, you will play a vital role in maintaining the health and appearance of our furry clients, while also delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners.
Responsibilities
- Bathing: Bathing using proper shampoos and conditioners for various breeds and coat conditions safely and efficiently.
- Drying: Fully dry dogs with a towel and a forced dryer, and heat dry when appropriate.
- Brushing and Caring for Coats: Brushing and combing to remove tangles and prepping for groomers.
- Monitoring Health: Observing for signs of distress or illness and reporting concerns.
- Maintaining Work Environment: Keeping the bathing area clean and organized.
- Expected to bathe between 15 and 20 times a day, depending on breeds and complexity.
Skills/Experience
- Experience in animal handling to ensure safe interactions with various breeds and temperaments.
- Knowledge of pet care practices, including bathing techniques, coat types, and grooming tools.
- Familiarity with veterinary practices is a plus, as it enhances understanding of pet health issues.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous but not required.
- Passion for animals, with experience in pet sitting or dog handling preferred.
- Must have experience in bathing for grooming or understand the difference.
- Must be able to handle dogs big dogs as well.
