Summary
We are seeking an Activity Assistant to join our team at Prime Time Adult Care. In this role, you will play a vital part in facilitating activities that enrich the lives of our participants. Your contributions will help create a supportive and vibrant atmosphere where seniors can thrive.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing daily activities for participants, including social events, exercise programs, arts and crafts, and music sessions.
- Engage with participants to encourage participation and foster a sense of community.
- Monitor participant health and well-being during activities, reporting any concerns to nursing staff.
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Support caregivers by providing updates on participant engagement and any changes in behavior or health.
- Escort clients to and from activity area and/or bathroom facilities.
- Assist in serving lunch.
- Assist with feeding and toileting when needed.
- Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and continuing education.
- Performing all other tasks which may be requested by the Activity Director, Executive Director or Board of Directors .
Requirements
- Experience in caregiving or working with seniors is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with participants and their families.
- Ability to manage schedules and assist with events that cater to diverse interests.
- Knowledge of aging issues and long-term care practices is beneficial.
- A compassionate attitude towards supporting older adults in their daily activities.
