About the Role
Shakespeare Engineering, PLLC is a growing MEP design firm serving commercial construction projects throughout the country. We're looking for a mid-level Mechanical and Plumbing Design Engineer to join our team full-time, supporting system design and construction documents across a varied project pipeline — from hotels and offices to fire stations and mixed-use developments. This role also plays a key part in mentoring and developing junior team members, including interns and newer engineers.
This is a great fit for someone who wants project variety, autonomy, and direct collaboration with a small, experienced team.
What You'll Do
- Design plumbing systems (domestic water, sanitary/vent, storm drainage) for new construction and renovation projects
- Lead mechanical system design and equipment selection for commercial buildings
- Produce construction documents in AutoCAD/Revit MEP
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other project stakeholders
- Review drawings and markups (Bluebeam) and incorporate revisions
- Train, mentor, and review work from interns and newer team members
- Communicate directly with project managers on scope, schedule, and technical questions
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of mechanical and/or plumbing design experience in commercial buildings
- Proficiency in Revit MEP
- Familiarity with Bluebeam for markups and QC
- Strong communication and mentoring ability
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
