MACHINIST LEVEL III
Description
Signing Bonus and relocation assistance offered.
Established machine shop looking for an expert machinist with a minimum of 5 years of experience in CNC machining. Ideal candidate will have the ability to program utilizing Mastercam User Interface. Set up and operate CNC Mills and Laths. Assist in working with level I machinist. Follow quality and safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Position is in person at our New Athens, Illinois location. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrates expert level proficiency in operating CNC milling machines, with complete knowledge and experience of set ups.
- Majority of Experience needs to be mainly in Job Shop environment of machining parts with low quantity runs or one-off parts.
- Able to hold machining features with in 0.0005”.
- Experience in generating and troubleshooting programs in Mastercam User Interface.
- Requires a high school education or equivalent experience.
- Print reading (including Geometric Tolerances)
- Ownership of basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, micrometers, gauges, and indicators.) as required within department.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex mathematical calculations utilizing Trigonometry.
- Bonus: experience with Set-up and operate larger CNC Horizontal with B-axis rotary tables or 5-axis milling machines.
- Bonus: Experience with tooling and programming tool paths utilizing dynamic and high feed milling.
- Bonus: Experience with the design of work holding fixtures needed for castings or 3D printed materials.
- Bonus: Shop Forman or Plant Manager experience.
- Bonus: Set up and managed a tool crib.
- Bonus: 5+ years of Experience with CNC Lath set-up and operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts to print.
- Ability to navigate through Mastercam User Interface with knowledge of program editing and posting.
- Ability and desire to train and mentor machine operators, Machinists’ level I, II, and new hire employees regardless of classification.
- Keep assigned area clean and organized.
- Move material if needed with overhead crane or fork truck.
- Utilize Excel to create set-up sheets, work instruction and tool lists
Job Type: Full-time with overtime available.
Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
