Job Title: Grill CleanerPosition Summary
The Grill Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and proper sanitation of all grilling equipment and related kitchen areas. This role is essential to ensuring food safety standards, efficient kitchen operations, and high-quality food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize grills, griddles, fryers, and other cooking equipment after use
- Remove grease, food debris, and carbon buildup from all grill surfaces
- Disassemble and reassemble grill parts for deep cleaning as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of surrounding kitchen areas, including floors, walls, and prep stations
- Properly use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
- Dispose of waste, grease, and used cooking materials safely and properly
- Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning or prep tasks when required
- Report equipment issues, damages, or maintenance needs to management
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations (HACCP/local health codes)
Qualifications
- No formal education required; high school diploma preferred
- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and physically demanding environment
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and scrubbing
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Exposure to heat, grease, and cleaning chemicals
Work Environment
This position works in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and slippery surfaces. Proper safety gear and training will be provided.
Compensation
Hourly wage based on experience and location.
Pay: $7.50 - $10.00 per hour
