Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving equipment with precision and safety.
- Assist in the setup and preparation of construction sites by ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functioning correctly.
- Follow project plans and instructions to execute tasks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to identify maintenance needs or potential issues before they escalate.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of construction phases.
- Support site safety initiatives by maintaining a clean work environment and following all safety procedures.
- Document equipment usage and report any operational concerns or incidents promptly.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment and machinery.
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drills, and paving machines.
- Proven construction site experience with an understanding of construction processes and safety standards.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar (CAT) machinery is a plus but not required.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately. Minimum Requirments
- Graduate of a recognized and approved Heavy Equipment Operator Apprenticeship Program.
- Current apprenticeship completion certificate or journeyman certification.
- Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as required.
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
