Job Summary
Chao Restaurant, Hawaii’s newest contemporary Southeast Asian dining destination, is looking for a dedicated, high-energy Food Runner to join our team. This is more than just delivering plates — you’ll be the vital link between our kitchen and guests, ensuring every dish arrives promptly, perfectly, and with style. Your teamwork, communication, and attention to detail will help create an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly, accurately, and with excellent presentation.
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen to coordinate order timing and special requests.
- Assist with light food prep to keep service running smoothly.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
- Provide attentive guest service, answering questions and resolving concerns promptly.
- Use the Aloha POS system to track orders and coordinate with the kitchen.
- Support team members during peak hours with additional tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as a Food Runner or in food service is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and a guest-focused mindset.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and detail.
- Familiarity with food prep and safety practices is a plus.
- POS experience, especially with Aloha POS, is an advantage.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
