Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine individual needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and catheter care.
- Maintain detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with complex procedures such as wound suturing, tube feeding, venipuncture, and sterile processing techniques.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those requiring memory care and behavioral health support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in hospital settings like Level I Trauma Centers or ICU environments to coordinate patient treatment plans.
- Support discharge planning and case management efforts to facilitate smooth transitions from inpatient to outpatient or home care settings.
- Conduct patient education on medication administration, health coaching, and disease management tailored to individual needs.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate medical documentation.
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I Trauma Center environments with knowledge of acute pain management and airway management techniques.
- Experience working with diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those in hospice or palliative care.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Skilled in performing phlebotomy, IV insertion/infusion, catheterization, and specimen collection/processing with aseptic technique.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and HIPAA compliance to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge to deliver high-quality nursing care across multiple specialties including cardiology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and neonatal intensive care units (NICU). Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
