CERTIFIED NURSE ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR
DESCRIPTION
The Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) Instructor will instruct students according to the established curriculum designed to assist students in building knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the certification exam for Nevada Nurse Assistant. The instructor must possess the ability to work with students from different socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. The Instructor will be responsible for an entire 96-hour program and may allow for additional time for office hours, open labs, and review sessions as needed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the Perry Foundation Academy of Health Catalog and as instructed by the Program Coordinator.
2. Develops and maintains an environment conducive to effective learning utilizing available resources.
3. Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, progress reports, skill assessments, quizzes, and tests.
4. Creates and maintains an effective learning environment utilizing various adult learning techniques and instructional media.
5. Communicate effectively.
6. Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care.
7. Prepares for classes and clinical sites assigned with written evidence of preparation.
8. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Registered Nurse with a current, active iCNA license in good standing.
2. Have no disciplinary action, administrative action, or any complaints pending against your nursing license.
3. Proof of successful completion of a Nevada State Board of Nursing approved train-the- trainer course.
4. Ability to perform physical work with patients and students in a clinical setting.
5. Ability to lift at least 20 lbs.
6. Meets any federal and state criteria established for instructors of an approved CNA program.
Pay: $44.00 - $48.00 per hour
