At the Cardinal Cushing Centers, we support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing possibilities and opportunities for growth and advancement. Our programs for students, adults and community members include education, employment training, transition services, residential care, therapeutic and recreational services.The SLP would provide both diagnostic and remediatory speech and language services to students. This role is 24 hours/week._____________________________________________________________________________________PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List key areas of responsibility, major job duties and key objectives for this position)Completes speech and language diagnostic assessments for all new students admitted to school after receiving written referralsAttends all IEP meetings, reviews and transdisciplinary meetings as necessary Documents speech language services in the form of goals and progress reports on a quarterly basisProvides staff with suggestions and methodology training and interventions to be implemented in the various domains where students function.Schedules with staff observation and consultation time as part of the integrated service delivery model.Assists parents/guardians with outside consultation and/or evaluationsConducts hearing services on all students once a yearAttends all school faculty meetings/in-services as scheduledKeeps all student-related information confidentialReviews and directs all individual/group or collaborative/consultative services provided by speech/language assistantCompletes annual professional development requirementsSupervises speech/language assistant(s) in direct care and written documentation of servicesIntervenes physically in behaviorally aggressive situations as trainedUpholds the mission and corporate values of Cardinal Cushing Centers of MassachusettsRegular attendance and promptly reporting to work at the beginning of the scheduled shift are essential functions of this position Assumes additional responsibilities as assignedRun therapeutic groups in the residential and classroom setting
