Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, and technical drawings to accurately set up formwork for concrete structures.
- Construct, assemble, and install formwork using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment, ensuring stability and precision.
- Install rebar reinforcement according to specifications to strengthen concrete elements.
- Operate concrete mixers and assist with pouring, finishing, and curing concrete to achieve smooth, level surfaces.
- Cut, shape, and modify form components using concrete cutting tools and other equipment as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper handling of tools, heavy lifting techniques, and equipment operation.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution from foundation to finish work such as plastering or stucco application.
- Assist in renovation projects by installing metal stud framing or flooring as required.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials efficiently on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction projects involving concrete forming or related trades such as carpentry or masonry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete mixers.(MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS)
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, and technical specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and material needs.
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and the ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols at all times.
- Prior experience with rebar installation, concrete pouring, finishing techniques, and formwork construction is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery when necessary.
- Experience in renovation work such as stucco application or flooring installation will be considered an asset.
