In this position, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles with a Class B license to transport freight, equipment, and materials across various routes. Your expertise in truck driving, route management, and load handling will ensure timely deliveries and exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers to deliver freight efficiently.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring secure and proper handling of all items.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on manual transmission systems and specialized equipment.
- Plan and execute route driving with precision, adhering to schedules while maintaining compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage freight documentation accurately, including delivery logs, load manifests, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and provide excellent service.
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance while following all safety protocols during operation.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL B license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery across diverse routes.
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, or tractor-trailers is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when required.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling.
- Strong organizational skills for route planning and documentation management.
