Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and removal of various types of insulation materials according to project specifications
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, fit, and secure insulation in walls, ceilings, and floors
- Follow blueprint specifications and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Climb ladders and scaffolding safely to reach high or hard-to-access areas on construction sites
- Work in crawlspaces and attics. Need to be comfortable in small, dark spaces.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and power tool safety procedures
- Interpret basic technical drawings and construction plans to support installation tasks
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met efficiently
Skills
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during installation processes
- Mechanical knowledge related to tools, equipment, and insulation materials
- Experience or familiarity with construction site environments and safety standards
- Ability to use hand tools such as knives, tape measures, screwdrivers, and caulking guns confidently
- Climbing skills for ladder use and working at heights safely
- Understanding of blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Knowledge of construction estimating principles is a plus but not required
- Experience with building insulation installation, plastering, stucco, masonry, or metal stud framing is beneficial
- Ability to follow safety protocols rigorously during all phases of work
- Strong communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration
