Lead Teacher
Location: Kidz Korner Children's Center
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
Hours of Operation: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Year-Round Program)

Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and dedicated Lead Teacher/Site Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong educational leader who is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education while mentoring teaching staff and maintaining a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
The Lead Teacher/Site Supervisor is responsible for classroom management, curriculum planning, teacher support, family communication, regulatory compliance, and ensuring that every child receives individualized care and learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans aligned with children's interests and developmental goals.
- Create a positive classroom environment that supports children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, physical, and creative development.
- Lead large- and small-group learning experiences using play-based instructional practices.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach teaching staff, providing ongoing guidance to support professional growth.
- Build strong relationships with families through daily communication and collaborative partnerships.
- Conduct developmental assessments using DRDP, ASQ, ASQ:SE, ECERS, and other required assessment tools to support individualized learning goals and school readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all California Title 22 licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and program policies.
- Maintain accurate classroom documentation and children's records.
- Promote a safe, healthy, clean, and organized learning environment.
- Assist with daily classroom cleaning and sanitation, including weekly disinfecting of classroom toys, shelves, and learning materials.
- Support licensing visits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuous program development.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- California Site Supervisor Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).
- Minimum of 3 years of preschool teaching experience.
- At least 2 years of leadership experience as a Lead Teacher, Site Supervisor, or Assistant Director in a licensed early childhood education program.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Health and Nutrition Certification.
- Current TB clearance and health screening.
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
Preferred Skills
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Experience with ECERS, DRDP, ASQ, and ASQ:SE assessments.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to create positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Sit, kneel, bend, and work at children's level throughout the day.
- Respond quickly to children's supervision and safety needs.
- Participate in indoor and outdoor classroom activities.
