Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute installation and repair tasks.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Collaborate with construction teams on renovation projects, framing carpentry tasks, and general construction site activities.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation processes when applicable.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols, including proper handling of electrical components and tools.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems in commercial buildings or industrial facilities to ensure ongoing safety and functionality.
- Assist with schematic reading and interpretation for complex electrical installations or troubleshooting scenarios.
- Demonstrate handyman skills for minor repairs or adjustments on-site as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge.
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC standards, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices used in electrical work.
- Experience working with low voltage and high voltage systems in various environments.
- Ability to read technical schematics and interpret complex wiring diagrams accurately.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in industrial settings is preferred.
- Construction site experience including framing carpentry and renovation projects is highly desirable.
- Handyman experience or skills in frame carpentry enhances versatility on the job site.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting electrical issues quickly and safely.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all relevant electrical codes including NEC regulations.
