Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences
- Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint and handling techniques
- Assess each pet’s condition and communicate with pet owners about grooming needs or concerns
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist with pet care tasks such as nail trimming, ear cleaning, and skin checks to promote overall health
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client questions and scheduling appointments efficiently
- Support pet handling during grooming procedures to ensure comfort and safety for every animal
Skills
- Proven experience in pet grooming with knowledge of breed-specific cuts and styles
- Strong dog handling skills coupled with animal care expertise
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely during grooming activities
- Knowledge of pet sitting, pet care, and kennel experience enhances your ability to manage diverse needs
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during busy days
