Position Summary
The Janitorial Lead supports daily cleaning operations by overseeing janitorial staff, maintaining Class A property standards, reinforcing workplace safety, and ensuring high-quality customer service throughout the facility.
Essential Responsibilities

Lead and support janitorial team members during assigned shifts

Assign daily tasks and monitor work completion

Conduct quality inspections to ensure cleaning and presentation standards are achieved

Train employees on cleaning procedures, safe chemical usage, PPE requirements, and company safety protocols

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, SDS requirements, and proper chemical labeling/storage procedures

Promote a strong safety culture by identifying and correcting unsafe conditions or practices

Assist with cleaning duties and special projects as needed

Address tenant requests and employee concerns professionally and promptly

Maintain a customer service-focused environment through responsive communication and professional interaction
Qualifications

Previous janitorial experience required

Leadership or team lead experience preferred

Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures, equipment, and chemical safety standards

Strong communication, organization, and coaching skills

Commitment to workplace safety and customer satisfaction

Essential Duties & Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work in a commercial environment. Essential duties may include standing and walking for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and repetitive movements; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; and operating cleaning equipment, tools, and machinery safely and effectively. Employees may work in varying indoor conditions, around cleaning chemicals, noise, dust, and high-traffic areas. The ability to follow safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain consistent attendance is essential to the role.
