Duties
- Operate commercial-grade dryers, washers, tunnel dryers, conveyor dryers, barrier washers, and other laundry machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform laundry washing using appropriate water temperatures, detergents, bleach washing, baking soda stain removal, hot water stain removal, cold water stain removal, and fabric care techniques.
- Conduct mechanical stain removal using specialized tools and techniques to ensure garments are thoroughly cleaned.
- Manage laundry folding with precision using laundry folding machines and manual techniques to ensure neatness and quality.
- Use pressing machines and laundry steam cleaning equipment for pressing garments and linens to achieve crisp finishes.
- Label items accurately for proper identification and sorting; track inventory levels of detergents, cleaning supplies, and linens.
- Maintain an organized workspace by cleaning machines, folding stations, carts, and storage areas regularly.
- Push carts and operate tunnel washer and stackable dryer machines to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Handle customer service duties such as cashiering when needed, assisting clients with their laundry needs professionally.
- Ensure adherence to machine operation safety procedures at all times to prevent accidents or damage.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating commercial laundry equipment such as dryers, washers, pressing machines, tunnel dryers, conveyor dryers, barrier washers, or similar machinery is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of fabric care principles including stain removal (mechanical, baking soda-based, hot/cold water methods) and garment finishing techniques.
- Ability to operate laundry steam cleaning systems safely and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
- Excellent attention to detail for labeling items correctly and tracking inventory accurately.
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks such as folding or machine operation.
- Basic customer service skills for cashiering or assisting clients when necessary.
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to machine operation is essential for a safe working environment.
