Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out processes with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claims processing
- Collect payments, process billing, and manage patient financial records with precision
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth
- Answer multi-line phone systems efficiently while providing outstanding customer service and appointment coordination
- Assist with medical documentation review, intake procedures, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support office management tasks including filing, data entry, and managing medical records in various EMR systems
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical or Dental Receptionist with clinic or dental office experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and health information management
- Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth is a plus
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing (10 key) skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines with integrity and discretion
- Exceptional phone etiquette, organizational skills, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Strong clerical skills including filing, documentation review, and managing medical records efficiently
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes, Medicare procedures, ICD coding standards, and medical administrative support practices
