Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of metal components.
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, power tools, and measuring tapes to verify dimensions and ensure precise fabrication.
- Operate fabrication equipment including press brake machines, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and sheet metal shears to shape and assemble materials.
- Cut, weld, assemble, and install ductwork, piping systems, sheet metal structures, and other fabricated components on construction sites or in shop environments.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols while handling heavy machinery, rigging equipment, forklifts, and power tools to prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring all work meets quality standards and project specifications within designated timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in fabrication shops with a strong understanding of mechanical fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and plasma cutting.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret mechanical blueprints accurately.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, and tape measures for precise measurements.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to welding and fabrication practices.
- Experience operating shop equipment like press brakes, plasma cutters, pipe threading machines, and power tools safely.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and ductwork assembly.
- Construction experience preferred; familiarity with rigging procedures and pipe threading is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to welding operations and heavy machinery use.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations necessary for fabrication shop math and measurements.
