Appliance company that began in 1960 is seeking an employee to function as an Appliance Parts and Service Department Coordinator.
Basic Function: To provide customer service, perform administrative duties, and assist the VP of Operations when necessary.
Compensation: $18.00 - $22.00 an hour
Specific Responsibilities
- Answer Service calls and assist in answering the customers questions to the best of your ability in a professional manner.
- Receive and enter Service orders and Part orders, properly filling out Service order and part order tickets, while monitoring customer account terms and verifying warranty status
- Provide excellent customer service via researching and resolving customer issues, and following up with customer
- If necessary, dispatch Service calls by calling and notifying customers the day before we arrive, filling out route sheets, and notifying customers of any schedule changes or cancellations
- Assist walk-in customers with Parts and Service requests or issues
- Create Purchase Orders for Part Orders, and submit part Orders to various parts distributors.
- Notify customers of part backorders, parts being shipped out, and researching/resolving part-related issues.
- Assist in preparing billings and/or mailing invoices
- Run various reports to track open orders, part back orders and inventory
- Review all work orders prior to processing to verify account and warranty status, labor line times and part line item quantities and costs.
- Perform all billing functions, and other miscellaneous duties
- Miscellaneous duties given by VP of Operations.
Job Requirements
- Friendly, professional manner when dealing with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
- Experience using basic computer software, word, excel and willingness to learn our customized software system
- Complete all paperwork thoroughly and organized daily.
- Patience in dealing with occasional, complex problems or difficult customers; ability to work on resolving situations as best as possible.
- Knowledge of general Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs is a plus.
- A can-do spirit and willingness to pitch in where needed, especially in times of higher job volume or a co-worker being out.
- Prior experience in Customer service is beneficial.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
