Parts Representative
Pay: $20 - $24 (Based on Experience)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Parts Representative to manage the flow of parts for both internal service technicians and external customers. This role is responsible for sourcing, ordering, receiving, organizing, and distributing parts to ensure technicians have what they need to complete repairs efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory levels. This is primarily a behind-the-scenes position with limited direct customer interaction, as customer check-in and front desk responsibilities are handled by a receptionist.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and fulfill parts requests for internal service technicians and customer orders.
- Source parts from vendors using equipment model and serial numbers.
- Order, receive, inspect, and stock incoming parts shipments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine cycle counts.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure parts are available for scheduled repairs.
- Work with vendors to resolve shipping issues, backorders, warranties, and returns.
- Package and prepare parts for shipment when necessary.
- Keep the parts department clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Monitor inventory levels and recommend stock replenishment to minimize downtime.
- Accurately document parts transactions using inventory or ERP software.
- Collaborate with the service department to prioritize urgent repair needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a parts, inventory, warehouse, or service support role preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to identify equipment or vehicle parts is strongly preferred.
- Experience using model and serial numbers to locate parts.
- Proficiency with computers and inventory management software.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.
Preferred Experience
- Heavy equipment, diesel, automotive, agricultural, or industrial parts experience.
- Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and vendor ordering systems.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
