Location: Lubbock, TX
Pay Range: $65 to $68/hr (Based on experience)
Shift: 12-Hour Days ( 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
Start Date: 08/03/2026
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks with the possibility of extension)

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR) for a 13-week travel assignment. The OR RN will provide perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical specialties, including trauma, orthopedic, neurology, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, cardiothoracic, and robotic procedures. This position is at a Level II Trauma Center and requires weekend block scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment.
- Assist surgeons during orthopedic, neuro, general, trauma, bariatric, urology, vascular, gynecology, and robotic surgeries.
- Operate and assist with Da Vinci Xi/DV5 robotic systems and specialty surgical equipment.
- Administer blood products and ensure accurate specimen handling and labeling.
- Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and respond to emergencies.
- Follow infection control, radiation safety, laser safety, and Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures.
- Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) RN experience.
- Previous travel nursing experience required.
- Experience in Orthopedic, Neuro, General Surgery, Trauma, and Robotic (Da Vinci Xi/DV5) procedures is required.
- Active RN license.
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and CNOR preferred.
- Epic EMR experience required.
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center required; Level I Trauma experience preferred.
- Ability to work 1:1 patient ratio with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 12-hour block shifts.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, infection prevention, perioperative standards, and surgical patient safety.
