Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, with experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient recovery and rehabilitation across diverse clinical environments, including orthopedics, geriatrics, and post-acute care. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work closely with licensed therapists to implement treatment plans, promote patient mobility, and enhance overall well-being through evidence-based practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs.
- Provide therapeutic interventions for patients in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, and sub-acute care facilities.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Support patients through exercises, mobility training, and functional activities, including specialized techniques such as dance therapy when appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families on post-treatment exercises and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, especially in orthopedics, geriatrics, hospital medicine, and outpatient services.
Experience
- Prior experience working in inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience providing care for patients with orthopedic conditions or in geriatric populations.
- Sub-acute care experience or familiarity with post-acute rehabilitation processes is preferred.
- Background working within hospital medicine or clinic environments that emphasize patient-centered care.
- Knowledge of dance therapy techniques or alternative therapeutic modalities is a plus but not required.
