Toledo Jet is seeking a detail-oriented Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) Inspector to support our Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance programs on the hangar floor. This hands-on role is responsible for performing inspections, verifying documentation, and ensuring maintenance work meets FAA regulations, Repair Station requirements, and company procedures — all while promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented aviation professional with solid regulatory knowledge, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of aircraft maintenance quality.
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Inspector performs day-to-day inspection and quality verification tasks across maintenance operations. This position works directly with technicians and leads on the floor, conducts required inspections, reviews maintenance documentation for accuracy, and reports findings up to QA and department leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Compliance
- Perform required inspections (receiving, in-process, final) on aircraft, components, and parts.
- Verify work performed complies with FAA regulations, the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and company procedures.
- Check compliance with applicable Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and manufacturer requirements on jobs inspected.
- Review maintenance records and documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to sign-off.
- Flag discrepancies and route them to QA leadership for corrective action tracking.
Quality Support
- Assist with internal audits of maintenance, avionics, and support work as directed.
- Document quality findings clearly and thoroughly for review.
- Support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) efforts by providing accurate inspection data.
- Identify recurring issues on the floor and report trends to QA leadership.
Regulatory Support
- Assist during FAA inspections, audits, and surveillance activities as directed by QA leadership.
- Maintain familiarity with current Repair Station manuals and regulatory documentation relevant to daily inspection work.
- Stay current on regulatory changes affecting inspection procedures.
Safety & Teamwork
- Support Safety Management System (SMS) reporting and initiatives.
- Report safety concerns and participate in incident investigations as needed.
- Communicate lessons learned and findings to technicians and leads on the floor.
- Work collaboratively with technicians, leads, and QA leadership to maintain quality standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 10 years of corporate jet maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, including Part 145, Part 43, Part 91, and Part 135 operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication abilities.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
Preferred
- Quality Assurance / inspection experience.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Prior inspection experience within a Part 145 Repair Station.
