Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, energetic attitude and provide a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and seating charts to optimize table turnover and guest flow
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, taking reservations and addressing guest questions
- Coordinate with the service team to assign tables efficiently, considering guest preferences and party sizes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand area, ensuring all materials are stocked and ready
- Assist in managing waitlists using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Support food safety standards by handling guest inquiries about menu items or special requests
Skills
- Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong communication skills, including clear phone communication and active listening
- Knowledge of restaurant reservation management and table management systems (e.g., Aloha POS, Micros POS)
- Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
- Basic math skills for processing reservations, managing waitlists, and handling cash or POS transactions
- Experience with food service operations, guest relations, and hospitality best practices
- Familiarity with food safety standards and restaurant procedures to ensure smooth service flow
