Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus confidently, and provide detailed descriptions of menu items to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Toast
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items and specials to maximize sales opportunities while ensuring guest satisfaction
- Manage cash handling, process payments accurately, and provide correct change
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols
- Assist with bussing tables, resetting stations, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Experience
- Previous restaurant or food service experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred
- Knowledge of fine dining service standards or in Italian cuisine
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle diverse situations gracefully
- Culinary or food industry background with understanding of food/drink preparation, sanitation, and food safety regulations
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy shifts
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cashiering and transaction processing
