Our Mission: We support and empower foster children, at-risk youth, and families in crisis by connecting them with compassionate volunteer advocates who provide hope, guidance, and a pathway to stability and lasting permanency.
The Role: The Community Engagement Coordinator is a contracted role with one primary goal: to connect CASA of Placer, Yuba & Sutter Counties with local businesses, churches, civic clubs, and service organizations in Yuba and Sutter Counties. The purpose of these connections is to generate new CASA volunteer leads and raise awareness of the CASA program in the community. This is a relationship-driven role that requires strong presentation skills and the ability to inspire others to serve and support foster youth in the Yuba and Sutter region.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and prioritize outreach targets (businesses, churches, service clubs, community groups)
· Conduct in-person outreach to cultivate relationships and introduce CASA's mission to prospective volunteers
· Seek out fundraising opportunities through local businesses to build community resources that support the mission of CASA
· Represent CASA at community events and group meetings
· Organize and host small-format community engagement events
· Track leads and activity, and report regularly to Volunteer Engagement Manager
· Formalize partnerships with local businesses offering perks/discounts to youth and their CASA's
Measures of Success:
· Generate 20 highly engaged volunteer leads per month
· Establish partnerships with local churches that adopt CASA as a mission
· Host 6 CASA info sessions in trusted community spaces (e.g., libraries, community centers, civic centers)
· Formalize partnerships with 3 local orgs to co-host recruitment events and info sessions
· Table at 4 resource fairs and/or community events
· Identify 4 businesses that support fundraising initiatives for CASA
Skills & Qualifications
· Deep roots and active connections within Yuba and Sutter County communities.
· Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; confident approaching and engaging new people and organizations
· Self-directed; able to manage an independent outreach schedule with minimal supervision
· Passion for child advocacy and volunteerism
· Reliable transportation
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofits, specifically focused on fundraising or volunteer recruitment is required
Hours and Compensation:
· This is a part time 10-month contract that runs September 2026 through June of 2027
· 20 hours per week
· $42.50 per hour
· Some weekends and evenings are required
