Thank you for considering employment in the Lunenburg Public Schools.GENERALThe ideal candidate should be energetic, motivated individual to work with collaboratively with students.The ideal candidate should have a strong background in the music area.The ideal candidate should be passionate and enthusiastic instructor who can motivate students to discover their creative potential.POSITIONInstrumental Instructor, Guitar/StringsInstrumental instructors are sought to teach guitar, ukulele, banjo, and mandolin. All applicants should have experience in private teaching on said instruments and be pedagogically trained as a specialist in the area of guitar/string instruments.Teachers will be expected to train the students in their studio on pedagogy and practice techniques that will make the student more proficient on their instrument in multiple genres. Teachers will also be required to help prepare the repertoire that has been assigned to the student by the students in-school music teachers (if applicable). This includes book work and concert pieces.
In addition to this, you will gauge each students ability and make sure to offer to all students who you deem fit the opportunity to prepare and audition for Junior and/or Senior Districts. WORK SCHEDULE: Lesson sessions run in 6-week cycles, with the exception of a smaller, 8-week session at the end of the year. Lessons are done in 30 minute and 1-hour increments in single (common) or small group settings (uncommon) once a week.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTSStrong communications skills; verbal and non-verbal.OTHERThese are non-benefit eligible positions.Hiring is subject to satisfactory CORI and SAFIS Background Checks per 603 CMR 51.
