Job Summary
The Pre-Licensed Clinician serves as a liaison between children, adolescents, transition age youth, adults, their support system(s), and community partners, providing a wide range of intensive, short term, community based behavioral health services tailored to the unique needs and goals of each individual. Services include crisis intervention, assessment, therapy, safety planning, care coordination, and linkage to community resources to promote stabilization and successful transition to ongoing care.
Goals
- Play a lead role in a field-based crisis team that responds to crisis line calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (on a rotating on call schedule of approximately 1 to 2 shifts per week), providing crisis intervention services throughout the community and by phone.
- Provide short term, intensive behavioral health treatment to individuals and their support systems in the home, school, or community to promote stabilization, reduce safety risks, and facilitate successful linkage to ongoing services.
- Meet productivity expectations as established by management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 field-based crisis stabilization services and critical safety management in the home or community (e.g., school, private residence, or other community setting) to best meet the individual's needs.
- Conduct comprehensive intake and assessment services to facilitate successful program enrollment; develop collaborative, individualized safety plans; and create strengths-based Client Care Plans in partnership with the individual and their support system(s) to guide treatment, promote ongoing safety, and support stabilization.
- Consult, collaborate, and coordinate with referring partners and other resources to advocate for the behavioral health needs of the individual and their support system(s) and facilitate continuity of care.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement individualized discharge plans in collaboration with the individual, support system(s), and community partners to ensure continuity of care, successful linkage to ongoing behavioral health services, and sustained stability following discharge from IHCS.
- Serve as a County designated Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) evaluator by conducting involuntary psychiatric evaluations in accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code Sections 5150 and 5585, when clinically indicated, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and county policies.
- Complete accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all services provided in accordance with program requirements and the standards of the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), HIPAA, Medi-Cal, and other applicable funding and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with the Program Director, Clinical Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality service delivery.
Secondary Duties
- Attend all required trainings and meetings.
- Participate in weekly individual and group clinical supervision.
- Provide Family Support Line coverage as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Relationship
Supervised by the Program Director and/or Clinical Director.
Position Qualifications
- Cannot have additional employment with another county/contracted program funded through HCA
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field
- Two years’ experience preferred
- Valid California driver’s license
- Live Scan fingerprinting required
- Experience with individuals of all ages is highly preferred
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Registration with California BBS required

- Working environment is indoor, reasonably clean, well-lighted and ventilated
- Generally little or no probability of injury or health impairments
- Requires little or no physical effort involving intermittent standing, sitting or walking while performing duties, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
Pay: $80,000.00 per year
