Northeast Developmental Services, Inc. is seeking compassionate, dependable, caring and motivated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in our residential homes and day program site . In this role, you'll provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them live as independently as possible while achieving their personal goals and enjoying meaningful experiences in their communities.
Whether you're experienced or new to the field, we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered care and support.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation as needed.
- Support community participation, recreational activities, appointments, and social engagement.
- Administer medications according to state regulations and company policies (training provided if applicable).
- Complete daily documentation and maintain accurate records.
- Encourage independence, choice, and skill development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive living environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members, leadership, families, and healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and any required screenings.
- Team player, compassionate, patient, reliable, with a positive attitude and committed to providing high-quality care and support.
- Experience in caregiving, healthcare, or human services is welcomed but not required.
