Primary Function
Repair and assemble all types of mill machine equipment
Basic Responsibilities
-
Operate commonly used machine tools
-
Operate fork truck and/or overhead crane to move supplies and equipment
-
Conduct general preventative maintenance on machines including but not limited to cleaning and oiling

Fit and assemble machine parts
-
Construct and repair all types of tools
-
Inspect, change and refit all types of mill bearings
-
Interpret blueprints and part drawings and prepare ship and field sketches
-
Assist in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment
-
Assist in analysis of equipment failures and make recommendations of how to eliminate in the future
-
Maintain a safe and clean work area
Sources of Supervision
-
Generally works independently and does not require close supervision

Position reports to Maintenance Supervisor
Tools and Equipment
-
Lathes, vertical and horizontal milling machines, planers, key seaters, broaching machines, precision grinders, drill presses, boring machines and various hand tools and precision measuring instruments.

Experience

Previous machining experience in a steel-related environment
Education/Training

Certified Machinist preferred
